 Went to the 'Valley' again in March 2010 & helped the girls in Jofeh to make Ties, see pics below using Syrian fabrics, as well as more ideas for cross stitch and wood work. 

I'm starting to fundraise for another trip (June 2012) and will add details when I've arranged everything.  Also looking at having further sales so keep looking for updates.

I've just come back from Jofeh in the Jordan Valley (26th Aug- 10th Sept 2009) where I did short term mission with Highway Projects, as I did last summer as well.

I had an amazing time and managed to get in a bit of knitting done with the girls.

Check out the new range of Knitwear (Clothing and Accessories) I designed for People Tree now on sale through their Website and in Topshop, Oxford Circus. All their knitted products are fair trade and hand made in either Nepal or Peru and support and sustain local people and economy.

 

 

 

I'm now back from Jordan and had a fantastic time working with deaf girls who were working on textiles projects including cross stitch, embroidery, making bags and clothing. The centre is called Saleem Inn and is in Jofeh in the Jordan Valley it is a community rehabilitation centre for anyone with special needs. Here are some of the girls I have worked with.

4th-5th July 24hour Knitathon for my Jordan trip with Highway Projects (see below)- I will be knitting various projects for 24hrs. If you would like to sponsor me send me an email or use the contact page. I need to raise £700 which will go towards my travel, accommodation, training & the project itself. I will be helping build a school, working with children & young people and others in the community in Amman and Jordan Valley between August 27th- Sept 11th.

What works really well is a group of friends getting together with some good wine & nibbles having a look at what I am selling & making. I am going to be working with other designers & sellings including Fashion & Jewellery.

East London Christmas Design Market - 2nd December 2007 - a christmas market with new designers selling their work, some of whom are mentioned in Creative Friends.

This event was organised by myself & Victoria Nicholls at Rich Mix, Bethnal Green Road, London. There are plans for another market in the New Year

 

East London Design Market - 8th September 2007 - the first design market organised and promoted by myself & Victoria Nicholls where there were a number of stalls with new designers.
